Amber Ruffin is ready to live her most authentic life.
And she has a whole group of supporters ready to do it with her. In fact, after the former late night host came out as queer, she was inundated with loving messages from friends and fellow celebrities.
“In what will come as a shock to exactly zero people,” Amber—who was previously married to Jan Schiltmeijer until their 2023 split—began a June 30 Instagram post, “I’m using the last day of PRIDE to come out! Be proud of who you are, little babies! I know I am!”
And the comedian couldn’t help but quip, “I can’t wait to be discriminated against for a new reason!!”
Amber’s carousel of photos and videos began with a picture of herself smiling in a tank top with the word “Queer” in a rainbow, followed by a clip from a Pride parade and photos with a number of friends.
Following the 45-year-old’s news, the comment section of her post was soon filled with love.
Sophia Bush—who began dating soccer star Ashlyn Harris earlier this year—wrote, “Welcome home Amber!! Our team just keeps getting hotter and smarter!! Happy Pride, dear one,” while Queer Eye’s Tan France added, “Yay!! Happy Pride, love!! I hope you feel so loved and supported!”
Amber also received a wickedly sweet message from Cynthia Erivo.
“Welcome baby love!!” the Wicked star added. “Bathrooms are to the left, refreshments to the right, grab a chair. The DJ takes requests.”
